Assembly of Loci, 2020

Yale School of Art

New Haven, CT

Assembly of Loci is a site-specific installation composed of four separate scroll pieces. Each piece is made of silk organza and uses various methods including fabric printing, airbrush, and sewing. The scrolls are hung from fiber rush tied to rope cleats varying in heights of 87 inches - 100 inches. These pieces use references from cemeteries in Kansas City, visual representations of time such as architectural allusions to iron and glass arcades, and celestial bodies referenced in manuscripts from the 17th-18th centuries.  Documentation by Emily Barresi
